Shred Files deletes files instantly and securely, preventing them from being retrieved from the hard disk using file-recovery tools. A selected file is overwritten 5 times by dummy data and then deleted from the disk.

Due to the nature of this tool, a confirmation prompt will always be shown before selected files are deleted.

To shred one or more files:

1. Select one or more files to be shredded.

2. Right-click a selected file and choose Shred File(s) from the ShellToys XP menu.

3. A confirmation prompt will be shown. Choose Yes to shred the files, or No to cancel.
